FAQ
Q: What is the theme of this zine?
A: All thing Merfolk! We welcome traditional merfolk with fins, sharkfolk, octo-folk, selkies, sirens, clownfish, kracken - all our favorite sea related folk!
Q: Are human and non sea-folk characters allowed?
A:Humans and non-merfolk are allowed as long as the sea-folk are the center of the work (Example, Hualian with Fisherman Hua Cheng catching sea prince Xie Lian in his net)
Q: Is this a physical pfp zine?
A: No, this is a free, downloadable digital zine!
Q: Will NSFW submissions be allowed?
A: The main zine will be SFW, however, depending on the level of interest, we hope to do an additional NSFW section!
Q: What contributor roles will be available?
A: We're are looking for Artists, Writers, Cosplayers, Digital Merch Artists, Mods and Beta readers.
Q: Will I be able to apply for more then one role?
A: Yes! You may apply for as many roles as you like. We do not guarantee you will get all the roles you apply for.
Q: How many contributors will there be?
A: We're looking for about 3-4 mods, 4-5 beta readers, 10-12 Artists, 10-12 Writers, 5-10 cosplayers and 5 digital merch artists!
Q: What Danmeis will be allowed??
A: All of them! Novels, donghuas, manhuas, and live actions.
MXTX, Qian Qiu/Thousand Autumns, Word of Honor, 2ha, Legend of Exorcism, and more!
Q: Are ships allowed? (ha ha, ships in a mermaid zine, see what I did there)?
A: Bring us all your ships!! Sinking, sailing, rare pairs, all are welcome!
We will not accept any incest ships though.
Q: What ages do contributors need to be?
A: We ask that contributors be 16+ to apply to the main zine and 18+ to apply for the NSFW section.
Q: Do I need to be fluent in English to apply?
A: You will need to be semi-fluent to apply for any contributor spot and mostly fluent to apply as a writer. We will have beta readers to help correct anything before publishing though!
Q: Why not release the zine for Mer-May?
A: Time! We don't want to rush our contributors. However! We will be having some special Mer-May events and interactions up on our Twitter to celebrate!
